AR Product Visualization: Transforming E-Commerce for Our Clients
How Gamenic helped retail brands boost conversions by 40% with interactive augmented reality product previews built on WebXR and Three.js.
Augmented reality is no longer a novelty it’s becoming a critical tool for e-commerce brands looking to reduce return rates and increase buyer confidence. At Gamenic, we’ve helped several retail clients implement AR product visualization that delivers measurable business results.
Our approach centers on WebXR and Three.js, which allow us to deliver AR experiences directly in the browser no app download required. This is crucial for conversion optimization, as every additional step in the user journey creates friction that costs sales.
The technical pipeline starts with high-fidelity 3D scans or CAD models of the client’s products. Our optimization team then creates multiple LOD versions, balancing visual quality against the performance constraints of mobile devices. We typically target a 2-3MB model size for furniture items while maintaining crisp surface detail.
One of our most successful implementations was for a Nepali furniture brand. We created AR-viewable versions of their entire catalog 47 products allowing customers to place true-to-scale 3D furniture in their actual rooms using just their phone camera. The results were striking: a 40% increase in conversion rate and a 28% decrease in returns.
We’re now exploring AI-powered room analysis that can automatically suggest product placements based on the user’s space, style preferences, and existing furniture. This intersection of AR and AI represents the next evolution of spatial commerce.
